As many of you will know, Dr Tim Mitchell has long had an interest in helpingthe people of Nepal and the support from patients and staff for his work there has been amazing. Together we have raised money for 2 health posts, high in the Himalayas as well as supporting some of the many schools that they have built out there. Dr Mitchell and the rest of the team at Pahar Trust Nepal are very grateful for this.
Since the recent earthquake in Nepal, raising money to help the people who live there is more important than ever. 60 of the schools and communities that the Pahar Trust work with are between the epicentre and Pokhara and news is very difficult to come by. Singdi village which is linked with Westbury and where Dr Mitchell went twice last year, is 80% damaged with everyone having to stay outside for safety.
If you are able to donate anything to support the people who live in these areas, please see our JustGiving page which is raising money for the Disasters Emergency Committee.
Alternatively, please see the Pahar Trust JustGiving page.
If you would like to know more about how you can help in other ways please contact us and ask to speak to Dr Mitchell.
