Hypertension

It is important for people who have, or have had, high blood pressure, to have regular check-ups to have their blood pressure monitored.

High blood pressure (hypertension) rarely has noticeable symptoms, but if untreated, increases your risk of serious problems such as heart attacks and strokes. It is therefore important to have your blood pressure monitored regularly.

At your annual Hypertension Check, the Nurse will:

  • Check your blood pressure
  • Take blood for testing
  • Send off urine sample for testing (please bring with you)

When you come to the surgery for your review, you will be able to ask our Nurses any questions which you might have about your high blood pressure.

Please telephone reception on 0117 942 6811 to make an appointment with the treatment room for a Hypertension Check.

For assisted access to get an appointment for your Hypertension Review, you can email [email protected]. You will need to put in the subject line ‘Review Clinic’, and write your phone number in the email. A receptionist will then call you back within 2 working days to arrange an appointment with you. If you have missed a call, or have a message from us regarding your appointment booking, you will need to ring back via the usual line please.
