For most people a bout of flu is unpleasant, but usually over fairly quickly. However, for some, such as the elderly, or those who have a condition like diabetes, asthma or heart disease, flu can lead to complications which are more serious.
We are therefore recommending to all our patients in these high risk groups that they have a flu vaccination this year to protect them against the virus.
If you are in a eligible group you will be sent a letter inviting you in for the flu vaccination, if you haven’t received a letter but think that you are eligible please contact the surgery.
Flu clinics will be held at the surgery starting 27th September. There will be 2 Saturday clinics available, 7th October and 14th October. To make an appointment for the flu clinic, please phone 0117 9426811 or come into the surgery and speak to a receptionist. If you are unable to get to the surgery, please let us know, and we will try to arrange for a nurse to call and give you the vaccination at home.
