The Marmalade trust are taking new service user referrals for both the Marmalade Christmas Cheer project and for the Marmalade Companions project for over 50’s who are experiencing loneliness in Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.
These can be self-referred or if you know someone experiencing loneliness, you can refer them.
Christmas Cheer 2021 – Bringing joy and companionship to people who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day
Marmalade Companions – Supporting Marmalade members to make new connections and find social activity in their local community.
The closing date for Christmas Cheer applications is 31st October 2021 and for Marmalade Companions is 8th November 2021.
We are affected by the current national shortage of blood tubes like other GP practices. In order to continue blood tests for people with the greatest clinical need, we are delaying routine and non-urgent blood tests in line with national guidance.
If you have an appointment booked in the next week we will need to cancel this. Your appointment will be rescheduled once the situation is resolved.

In a letter to all GPs, 19 July 2021, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State Jo Churchill set out a new process for commencing data collection, moving away from a previously fixed date of 1 September.
- Your GP holds your health record, for use by us and other parts of the NHS for your direct care.
- NHS Digital also uses some of this data for research, planning, and improving the NHS for everyone.
If travelling, ensure to check that you can access your proof of vaccination in advance and don’t leave it to the last minute.
