Dr Tim MitchellMB ChB MRCGP DRCOG DPD (1980 Bristol) I qualified at Bristol University in 1980 and then served for 6 years in the RAF. During this time I worked in UK, Hong Kong, Brunei, Papua New Guinea and Nepal. I joined the practice as a partner in October 1986 and have since developed a special interest in skin problems which has led to the publication of several books for patients and medical colleagues. Outside work I am a member of the Rotary Club of Clifton and work with a charity building schools and health centres in Nepal. Works at Pilning Surgery.

Dr Rachel BrownMB BS MRCGP DRCOG DFFP (1992 Nottingham). I have been a partner at Montpelier since 1996 and have never stopped enjoying the challenges & rewards of working here. During that time I have developed interests in gynaecology & contraception and run a "well woman" clinic on a Monday afternoon at the surgery. When I am not at work I enjoy travelling, spending time with my family & cooking! I work all day on Monday, and on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.
Dr Ben SpargoMBBS BSc DRCOG MRCGP (Imperial College London 2008). I have a special interest in Child Health, Ear, Nose and Throat medicine, Education and teaching trainee GPs, Dermatology. My working days are Monday morning, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Dr Amanda BlakeMBBS MRCP DCH MRCGP DFFP (1986 London) I am a full time GP associate and have been at Montpelier for 12 years now, having previously been a partner in a South London practice. I enjoy working in an inner city practice with all the challenges and rewards it brings. As well as managing the usual medical complaints, I have an interest in Contraception and Women’s Health and I fit coils. Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday mornings & all day Thursday.
Dr Paula ElkinBSc University of St Andrews-1993. MBchB Manchester University-1996. MRCPCH, London-2003. MRCGP, London-2007. I worked as a full time Paediatrician in London for 8 years, and worked for a short period on the Neonatology unit in St Michael's Hospital when I first moved to Bristol in 2013. I had been training and working as a GP wSI (GP with a specialist interest in Paediatrics) for two years until November 2019. The service is currently being reorganised but I am hoping it will restart again at some point soon. I work on Monday and Wednesday mornings.
Dr Laura ToddMBChB MRCGP DFFP DCH DTMH (University of Glasgow Medical School 2001) I qualified from Glasgow University in 2001 and completed my GP training in Hampshire in 2006. I’ve been on the move a lot, working in New Zealand, Liberia, Ethiopia, Zambia and most recently the Lake District. I think Montpelier Health Centre is a great place to bring all of that diversity together. My interests are travel and tropical medicine and woman’s health. I work on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
Dr Paul MariesMBBCh MRCGP DIMM PGC Clin.Sci.(Mtn Med) PGDipSEM (Cardiff, 2007). I have an interest in the outdoors, particularly in climbing, mountaineering and white water kayaking and in 2014 completed a diploma and post graduate certificate in Mountaineering Medicine. I have an interest in musculoskeletal and sports medicine and do regular joint and soft tissue injections, as well as working with a local rugby team. I work Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Dr Claire FarringtonMBBCh DTMH MRCGP (Cardiff University 2010). I first came to work at Montpelier Health Centre as a GP registrar, and returned following completion of my training in 2016. During my GP training I took some time out to work at a community clinic in Malawi, which encouraged my interest in global and migrant health. I also enjoy teaching medical students at the Practice. Outside of work I can often be found cooking, walking and singing in a local choir. My working days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Dr Lucy LeworthyMBCHb 2009 Sheffield University, RCGP, DFSRH. I completed my specialist training at Guys and St Thomas Hospital in London, where I then worked at a busy practice in Brixton. I have a passion for travel and I recently travelled across Asia with my young family. I have specialist interests in Palliative medicine as well as female health and family planning. Outside of work I enjoy fell running. I work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Dr Michelle GuestMB BCh BAO BA, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland 1996. DCH, DFFP, MRCGP. I qualified from Trinity College, Dublin in 1996 and spent a few years travelling and working. I completed my GP training in Bristol in 2005, following on after training in Anaesthetics. I enjoy the diversity of general practice and have a special interest in Women's Health and Family Planning, and fit implants and coils. I am also very interested in healthy living and preventative medicine. I am married with 3 children. Outside work, I enjoy time with family and friends cooking and keeping fit by running, cycling and exploring the outdoors. I work on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Mohammed TariqMasters in Pharmacy 2006 (University of Bath), Independent Prescribing 2010 (University of Bath). I joined Montpelier Health Centre in 2008 as a Pharmaceutical Advisor and have since expanded my role with various qualifications. I have a special interest in, and am now the Lead Clinician for Long Term Conditions (LTC) at the Health Centre. Aside from this I am one of the main points of contact for all medication and therapeutics related queries for all the other Clinicians working alongside me and help facilitate CCG and in-house Clinical audits. I work at Montpelier Health Centre Monday to Friday.
Huma AfzalI qualified as a pharmacist in 2011 from Cardiff University. I spent 5 years working as a community pharmacist in various pharmacies before joining general practice as part of an NHS England scheme and completing the training pathway for pharmacists in general practice as well as the independent prescribing course. I am from Wales and visit family there regularly. In my spare time i enjoy cooking, reading, cycling, and attending fitness classes. I work at Montpelier Health Centre 2 days a week – Tuesday and Thursday

Jessica AckroydBSc Podiatry (Hons) MCPod. Since graduating from Southampton University in 2015, I have worked as a podiatrist within the Sirona podiatry high risk foot team specialising in the diabetic foot care in community and hospital care setting. My keen interests are in the education and prevention of the development of the high-risk foot and biomechanics. Outside of work I enjoy singing and dancing with my local theatre group. I work across the Bristol Inner City Primary Care Network Monday to Friday.
